I will be having surgery on Oct. 22, 2012.

Speedymag-Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your decision to have WLS. Questions are a good thing. This forum is a great source of information but you also need to start writing down all of your questions and concerns to take with you when you have your consults with the surgeon and nuritionist. You may also want to attend a live support group that is sponsored by your bariatric center. They are free and usually meet once or twice a month. You will meet people from all stages of pre and post surgery at the meetings so there is an abundance of collective knowledge there.
