I sip mine through out the day or sometimes I drink it in threes. Also you can use water and powdered milk. Get one with lets calories. Just have to read labels. And in my case I buy powdered I like the taste Its only 2 scoops have 270 calories add non fat milk or water your choice. 52 grams of protein of course I sometimes add a heaping scoop if I need it. I add sweetners and it thickens taste like a milk shake. We eat so little why are people so worried about calories here. Exercise requires fuel. I burn that much off on my bike. Rethink Proteins. not all are equal. Good lucjk.

Pacemakers work wonders you will be just fine. Glad your okay. My daughter is 31 and has low blood pressure no energy but, they are trying to treat her with meds. But, a pace maker will be fine. She will have her life back. take care

Get back to your surgeon, your nutritionist and your psychologist. Sometimes, people feel like this. Also, check your profile statistics. I don't believer your current weight is 149; what is it? You didn't lose 97 pounds in one month.

Come to this forum. You may have issues that we can help you with, like eating too fast causing pain, or burping out the gas so you don't have pain, etc., etc.,

So far not so happy. I am trying though. Eating has just become an ordeal now. It was so much a part of me before. I loved to cook even healthy meals. Now everything is just so blah to me or gives me heartburn. Yes I miss some things like pizza or chips but it really is more than that. I can't even have a salad if I want now. It's hard to put in words. Also, my weight is coming off so slowly and I really can't understand why. I follow the rules but it just is not moving. At the rate I am losing I just wish I would have stuck with a healthy eating plan and not taken this step. Now I have no choice so I guess I better learn to live with it.

I have been there too

Ok - as an addiction professional, i get this. Right now you are feeling the way an alcoholic feels after giving up drinking some 30 years later. It is a struggle to make those changes. when we don't see the results we expect, the honeymoon hits us . . . and we relapse. Loving food is a part of our problem.

So what does that have to do with you?? Your body has changed. you should expect the gastrointestinal issues. you are how many weeks out? you are down 37 pounds??? when was the last time you lost that many pounds? Are you exercising?? If you are not, you can expect a much lower weight loss ratio in a short period.

Remember, surgery is but a tool, there is still real work involved in this process. The surgery will all you the needed time to get your exercise and diet under control, before you get to where you can eat whatever you want again. If you can't eat things like salad, maybe you need to back step some of what you are eating - go to soft protein for a few days, give your tummy a rest. MEASURE<MEASURE<MEASURE all your foods. If you think you should have a 1/2 cup, take a 1/4 cup. if that sits well, wait a bit, and add more. if we eat too fast, too much, we get the reflux etc. your body is trying to tell you you are eating too much - keep goingu toss those cookies, literally. i get nausia and gagging, and foamies, and my nose starts running - like a terrible allergy attack - that is my full buzzer.

Thank you. I appreciate the input. I know it's hard work and I am getting better and it helps to have people talk through it. I think I do eat too fast. I don't know how to slow down. everything gets ice cold if I eat slower. I don't think I eat too much though. As soon as my stomach feels the least bit full I stop. I am terrified of throwing up. I am at about 1.5 ounces right now.

I am so happy i made this decision..... I was a Lapband >>> Gastric bypass conversion!!! So happy i made the decision to switch!! best decision ever made!! Im saving my life!! No more back problems! No more knee problems!! No more diabetes!! I can run around my little boy!!! I'm a better wife now!! I love it!! :p
 
Problems years later.

I am post surgery since March of 2001. I feel that it was the answer to my prayers. I was a nurse on a surgical floor and working night shift. I lost weight rapidly and felt wonderful about it. I went about my life and for the past 6 years I have had problems with Iron deficient anemia. Requiring Iron Infusions to get me to an acceptable Red blood cell count. I found some problems that I was unaware of...even being a nurse. I have lost too much weight now and it is not stopping. In the last year I have lost about 60# leaving me with a weight of #120. I felt fine at 150# but did gain some back. Now because I also had GERD my teeth are falling out, and I can not eat much...and I really don't think about eating. I am on a liquid diet mostly but have no urge to eat most of the time. Now I need my teeth fixed. I am worried that by the time I can get teeth (I am on disability with permanently hurt back) that I will continue to lose weight and thus not survive. Do other people have these type of problems? Need a supportive soul having problems. thanks.
 
I went for my annual physical today and I'm healthy and fit as a fiddle! No more high BP meds, No more high Cholesterol, No more CPAP machine, No more threat of diabetes, No more physical joint pain. Healthy and glad to be alive in addition to being grateful and thankful that my RNY Gastric Bypass has not only saved my life, but gave me back the life I've missed out on for 14 years of my life. A very special thank you to my supporters and my family and friends. This is the best news I've heard in a long time, and I couldn't be more grateful and happier about the results! Hope is always around the corner along with another chance to make things right! Three and 1/2 years out and still going strong. I love the life I have now and will always cherish my new and improved body and well-being!

I do the same in the range of 130 to 135 and enjoy carbs the same as you, but mindfully aware of the intake so it does not get out of control. Glad to hear you're doing well, and all the best to you as well this Holiday Season, Peace and Hugs, Linney

Well, the holiday has snuck up on me and too much celebration. I am up 5 pounds. Got to work on getting it back down.

I am very mindful of what I am doing. I am having all kinds of goodies and plenty of cocktails. Right now, I am doing my best to hold my own and then drop it as soon as I can.

I am enjoying these holidays more than ever before.

I know how you feel. This year is my third year out and it's easier to eat a little treat here and there, but I backed off quite a bit since dumping syndrome occurs with me and that's no fun at all! I'm glad you're mindful this holiday and enjoying yourself. Peace be with you my friend.

Back into the green range for weight

Well the good news this morning is I managed to get all the excess weight off in the last couple of days.

Back down into range albeit top of range 199.4.

I am trying to stay between 196 to 200. I call this my green range.

200 to 205 is my yellow range. Here is where I should be working to get weight back down. I did. But for the longest while nothing happened and then bingo it came off.

I was having a regularity issue. That is resolved and with that came a dumping of all kinds of excess fluids.

So, we will continue to work it.

Oh, the red range is DANGER; ANYTHING OVER 205. I haven't ventured into this range at all since reaching goal last July 2014.
