I have only lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks. ?

Five pounds a week is pretty spectacular! Don't get wrapped up on how fast or slow it is happening right now. I've seen many people on Instagram and other social networks who track their weekly weight loss and it is not unusual for many people to lose 3-5 pounds per week, sometimes less, and sometimes more. Others will gain a bit of weight every other week or so, but the overall trend is down. It is the long term trend that is important.

Focus on doing things right and it will fall in place. Many people take a year to 18 months to reach their goal weight. Don't fall into the trap of thinking things should be happening faster. Such thinking will lead to frustration and poor food choices down the line. I can think of many times when I got frustrated with how slow things were going during past diets, and that led to me giving up and going right back to old eating habits.

Focus on making good food choices and exercise. Don't fret the speed at which it all happens. None of us gained our weight in a few weeks, we shouldn't expect to lose it fast either. Every person's body responds differently based on their biology.

You ARE headed in the right direction. Don't lose sight of that. We all want it to happen faster, but the reality is not always going to be what we want. Don't let it get you frustrated or down. Be mentally prepared to stall and to gain and just remember it is all part of the process. Keep moving forward, make good choices and you will be successful.

For dinner I had 1/4 cup of sautéed mushrooms and 2 oz of salmon. Does that seem like too much ? In your opinion, I know I need to ask my nutritionist.
I would probably eat 3-4 oz of salmon and some sort of green veggie first before the mushrooms. What you describe to me doesn't seem to be enough, but I can only compare it to what I am eating. Are you tracking your daily meals and calories? I shoot for 700-900 calories per day with a focus on eating protein first, then the sides. A typical day for me, in the soft food stage might look like this:

Breakfast - 1/2C oatmeal, sweetened/flavored with about 1/4 of a protein drink
Morning Snack - 3/4 of protein drink (what I didn't use with the oatmeal)
Lunch - 2 egg omelet with tomatoes and goat cheese
Afternoon Snack - 1 serving of Okios Triple Zero Greek Yogurt
Dinner - 3-4 oz roasted chicken breast, steamed broccoli, cauliflower mash topped with a bit of gravy

That is all less than 1000 calories and gives me all the protein I need for the day. I don't have the same thing every day. Last night I had a tortilla-less burrito made with impossible burger onions and pinto beans over cauliflower rice. I eat as slowly as I can. I wait 30 min to drink afterward.

I track it all to stay on target. Over time, that calorie amount will inch upward until I reach my goal and go into maintenance. Confirm with your nutritionist how many calories, how much protein and how much carbs s/he recommends on a daily basis, and then shoot for that every day.

I'm a very firm believer in tracking. It's very easy to fall off the food wagon when you just wing it.

Shouldnt i be losing more? I've read people are losing 15-20lbs a week. I'm a month out of surgery.
You are doing great! Don't focus on the number, keep on your habits and focus on direction, not speed. I feel like a broken record saying this, but our bodies go thru SO much change, and sometimes the body knows that it has to catch up to the changes, so perhaps the scale does not read as we would like. This is part of why the NSVs are SO SO SO important to look for as well.

I read somewhere that if you started below 250, you should expect to lose between 15 and 25lbs in the first 6 weeks. I had a 2 1/2 week plateau and am still losing <5lbs a week. I had to stop weighing myself for my own sanity. I let the doctors office do it. I did weigh the other day for my phone appt. with my nutritionist (she asked me to) and I am down 38lbs, including the 2 week pre-op diet. Yesterday was 8 weeks, so that is 10 weeks total. Which is fine. I am really focusing on making sure that I am developing good habits I can take with me into the future. And honestly? For the first time in years, I feel AMAZING! I ride my bike for an hour a day. I can sleep through the night without waking up due to pain in my body because I'm too heavy. I am wearing XL clothes for the first time in 20 years. From a 2 or 3X. The surgery is proven to work, especially in the beginning. So, trust it to work for you and try to stop worrying. When you speak to your nutritionist, have them give you guidelines for how many ounces/cups of food they suggest. Although, your new stomach will definitely tell you when to stop eating. So if you are not full, add another ounce or 2 of protein and another 1/4C of veggies. You'll most likely be full before you finish.

Thank u all sloop much!! I feel so bad I'm always complaining, I just am a doubter if that makes sense. I don't have much support at home so I find myself turning to you guys lol!❤
I have just been so weak and tired. All I want to do is lay on my couch which is unlike me. I was so energetic and positive up until sat. Maybe it's my hormones. Just been in the dumps lately. Hopefully I'll snap out of it.

Definitely, don't worry. You are doing awesome. Don't change anything that might alter your course. You are losing. If you lost 5 lbs a week for a year, you would drop 1825 lbs. Put it in perspective. One pound a week you'll lose 52 lbs a year clear. 2 lbs a week, you'll lose 104 lbs in a year. 3 lbs a week you'll lose 156 lbs in a year.
Stop focusing on numbers! Don't make me come down there. Focus on positive thinking and following your Journal, which I am just absolutely certain you are writing in every single day of your life. If I had a sarcastic Emoji I would insert it here.

Do you know that if you go to a park and stay on the path you can read a self-help book while you're walking? I used to do that. You have to be careful and of course, do look up occasionally. But stop worrying. I would now increase my activity, and I would make it aerobic activity, like walking.

KKHH!
How soon after surgery can I begin walking around the track! Anxious to get some physical activity in.

I was walking outside the day I got home from surgery. I was instructed by my surgeon and physical therapist that at a minimum they wanted me to be walking at least 30 minutes a day by the time three weeks rolled around. I was walking an hour to an hour and a half per day by that time. My normal daily walk is 2 miles, which takes me about 40 minutes, and on the weekends I have been walking 3 to 6 miles which takes be 1 to 2 hours, depending on the distance. I guess my point is, you can get on the track pretty much as soon as you want unless your doctor has given you some sort of restriction. I would check with your bariatric documentation or team members and see what they recommend.

Thank u for an example ! Yikes im barely eating much at all. I am going to up my game! I do track everything by protein. Gosh I can't wait to see my nutritionist.
U are the best thank u!
Hi you seem to doing really well. I had surgery on June 22nd i was loosing 6ilbs a week then it slowed sown for a couple weeks now up back up to like 4 or 5 lbs a week. Yeah i thought i was eating much but when i added up my calories it was only like 500 so i gotta up my game on that. My daughter recently got me these protein waters they are really good better than premier protein water.

My doctor had told me there will come a point after where you will get extremely tired it was normal. So listen to your body and rest but still do a little exercise like walking.

OK.. I am really getting nervous bc of how exhausted and weak I feel. I see him next week so ill hopefully have some more answers . Reassures me that it seems to be normal. Thank u.
