Just joined and looking forward to some ideas. I am having a revision done on my rny Dec 3. I beleive I know what to do this time however, I'm afraid I'll be a failure all over again. Has anyone else had a revision on an RNY and how have your results been?
 
Hi Cheryl, You have taken a good step by joining this support group. It is a wonderful group of non judgemental people with lots of support and help. I have not had my surgery as of yet. I will find out on November 9 when my date to have the gastric sleeve surgery. Please don't beat yourself up on past mistakes. Take the step forward and don't look back except improve and learn from past mistakes. I know I have been so hard on myself, but when it comes to helping others I am right there. Now...I am learning to be my own best friend and so far it is working great. I hope that you can teach me some of the tricks and I hope that I can help you in some way in our journey to a healthier lifestyle. Please take care of yourself and looking forward to sharing our ups and downs together.
 
Cheryl-Since I didn't have a revision I can't answer your question but I want to welcome you to the forum. You will find this forum friendly, informative and non-judgemental. I hope you visit often :) :) :)
 
Hi Cheryl, Welcome. How long has it been since your origional surgery? What are they going to do on your revision? Let us know how you are doing. :cool: Tom
 
I was my Drs.very first patient and was the first patient for the hospital as well
in Jan. 2004. I lost a total of 130#s and have since gained back all but 40. They are going to lengthen my intestines so they don't absorb so quickly.

I don't understand. What, exactly, is the surgeon going to do? How will s/he "lengthen" your intestines?

I work hard to stay well informed. I've not heard of this before and thank you for any information.
