Kinda freaking out now

I am a HUGE baby when it comes to needles and pain, and I found out today that they submitted on the
12th or 13th. Which means as soon as next week I could get a call with my surgery date. I though I had 5 weeks to go but it could be less then 3.
I am not ready, but I want the surgery to be done and to be healing.

I am nervous and excited at the same time, is this normal?

Just went thru all that myself! And boy is it normal! I was very emotional the day before, and day of surgery... but now, I am 2 weeks post op. today! I have been lucky. I had no complications during surgery, and I have had an easy time with food toleration! (Almost too easy I think). I would like to say its a breeze, a piece of cake, and in a way it can be. But reality is... its a big deal! You will be fine! If you have any questions, you can always message me. What surgery are you having?

Gastric Bypass, and I am excited/nervous/scared/happy, etc.... all at the same time. I want it to be over and done, but I realized I have so much to do to get ready. My brother is staying at my house to watch my pets and the house is a mess. I need to get help cleaning it this weekend, but it's such a mess. :(
I think about all the stuff I still need to get, like baby utensils (slows down eating), small plates and bowls, get my clothes together for while I am staying at Mom's, take before pictures, etc...
Seems like a long list for me to get done in a couple of weeks.

I didn't get small utensils, I just make sure I don't fill the spoon, And with soup I just dip the spoon and eat what stays on spoon. Small bites. I did get a few like 4oz bowls.. I have started to get where I don't have to measure, just know the line to go to on the bowl. All the prep before will make it go fast! Have you started the pre diet. My dr had me on protein shake 3x's a day no real food, for two weeks before surgery. Some do other variations of that diet.

I am 6 years out a

Congrats Amyericw on all of your success! To lose that much weight and come off of that many medications is quite an inspiration!!!

Hi, I had my surgery August 12. It really is more an emotional time than pain. I myself can really say my r en y gastric bypass. The incesions are very small, I didn't have much pain at all. And they do give you pain killers. When your wheeled into that operation room say goodbye to that overweight, unhealthy person you was! You are about to change your life around for the better!! This should be an exciting time. A time for change. A time for the new improved you!!
