Nerve pain

Has anyone else experienced nerve pain after RNY surgery. I was a week out and I suddenly began having severe burning pain in my lower left side near my belly button. I talked to my surgeon but he told me it was nerve pain. It just seems weird that it would start so long after surgery. I have been on very little pain meds after I got home so I can't say that it was coverered up by medicine.

I had nerve pain in the same location several weeks after a different abdominal surgery. It did ease after a few weeks, but every once in awhile I get a twinge. I had to go back on narcotics for those few weeks, so it was pretty severe.
I don't think it's unusual after major surgery.

You know it makes perfect sense that you have this pain after major surgery. What wouldn't make sense is having it and not have having surgery. It went away before it will go away again.
