After years of saying "I can do this without surgery"...I finally agreed to surgery last June.
I am know in the middle of the waiting game.
It is probably the most difficult part...
I have met all the insurance requirements...but just making the final go ahead.
UGH!!!!

Hey there....I am doing the same....my surgery is in Feb.....the first week and here I am thinking I might push it another week....I also have told myself for 14 years....."ok when I am done having kids" "ok after xmas" "ok so and so said they would do it with me" "ok i am just gonna" and I do really really good for 14 days of starving myself, rewarding myself with food, weight watchers, and even did the delivered meals as i woke up at 3 am and ate a bag of chips so no one would know.....I am so scared of this surgery I am out of my mind, but when I think of what I can do different......surgery is the only thing that pops in my brain....I am so proud of you for choosing this (and myself).......I hope our journeys are AWESOME!!!

Hi to all of you. I too used to think I could lose anytime I wanted to. Yeah right. I finally realized that surgery was the only option left to me when I tried to wrestle with my 4 year old grandson and I lasted less than a minute. I knew then I had to do something. Once I made the choice to do the surgery, I was happy. About a week before the surgery the nerves kicked in and I was getting pretty anxious and even scared. I'd never had surgery before and it is a bit daunting. Don't worry if you feel that way, it's normal, almost everyone here has gone through it. For me, I focused on my reasons for surgery, mostly my Grandkids and being able to really enjoy them.

Each of you can have a great journey, as long as you follow your surgeons instructions. This is not a miracle cure, but a great tool and shows results faster than any other method. Good luck with your surgeries and keep us informed of how you're doing.

hi QutieC813 WELCOME I understand where you are coming from and your concerns too,for all of us whom have had the surgery have experienced what you are feeling. I almost changed my mind the week my surgery was scheduled and I am sooooooooooooo glad that didn't. for this tool weight loss surgery has given me has helped me to loose 61 pounds I used to weigh 328 at my highest weight and when I signed up for the surgery I weighed 282 lbs. the surgery is no magic tool, but it sure makes it easier to loose weight as long as we get our protein into our diet plan and add exercise to it, everything falls into place. being scare is normal feeling and thinking oh no I won't be able to eat this or that, is also a common thought. I have found that taking a small bite of something I am craving takes away the need to want to pig out on it. you're doing this so that you can have a happy healthier life and to be able to wear clothes that you like. I love not having to buy MOMIE style jeans and now can wear jeans with a zipper and no elastic trust me this is a wonderful feeling because it had been three years or more since I COULD DO THAT.HAVING PEOPLE COMPLIMENT YOU ON THE DIFFERENCE THE WEIGHT LOSS HAS MADE IS ALSO A WONDERFUL FEELING.
I live 20 min. from st Louis arch, Illinois side and had my surgery done at barnes jewish hospital, which dr and hospital are you using? I had dr Christopher eagon he is I charge of bariatrics at barnes.hope to be able to chat with you sometime. take care,Donna (bigtallsis)
