Please don't let anything deter you. Although I wish I knew these things, I would still have the surgery anyway. I am sure you know that there are always negatives.
I had no idea:
* That somehow your taste buds change, and foods do NOT taste the same.
* Odors can immediately make you nauseous - food, other people etc. I thought everyone had bad breath, but it was because of my heightened sense of smell.
* Food textures made me sick (eggs).
* Difficulty of drinking the required water, but you finally get used to that.
* Getting enough protein without having to have so many shakes - yuck!
* Importance of learning to eat slow and chew it well.
* I had no idea how much a person could throw up.
* I should have been more knowledgable on how to treat constipation. Some have diarrhea instead. Neither are good!
