I had my surgery on Oct 2014 and have lost 60 pounds so far but seem to be stuck. I'm not gaining but not losing either.

Welcome.

Stuck?

Pauses in weight loss happen. Even gains!

But as long as you are following your plan, sticking to exercise and limiting your calories to 1200 or whatever your Doctor recommended for your personal situation and assuring you are getting your 60 grams of protein each day, you will lose weight.

So ask yourself, have you drifted away from your new eating habit? Are you meeting your caloric limit goals? Are you getting enough protein? Have those nasty wasteful carbs snuck their way back into your daily routine?

If any question was answered yes , then try going back to basics; even the liquid or puree regimen you followed during your first month post op.

I know if my weight starts to creep up as a result of too many celebrations or whatever, I will pull back to 1200 calories and even go liquid for a couple of days until I get my weight back down to my goal weight. I never let my weight drift upward more than 5 pounds. If it does, I declare an emergency and go back to my strict 1200 calorie limit, get my 90 grams of protein and eliminate any of those wasteful carbs that snuck back in such as cookies (I love them) or (ice cream ) or whatever.

To the extent that I keep my weight within a 5 pound window of my goal I watch closely and usually stay at 1800 calories or so to maintain.

For you, you must keep to your lower calorie requirements until you reach goal and then discuss maintenance with your Doctor or nutritionist.

Are you part of a local support group? This is so important to staying accountable.

Do you record everything you consume? You should. This is a self accountability technique that works very well for me.

Best wishes,

Ralph
