New member from Texas

Hi! I am just over 11 months out. Had been doing well and lost 115 pounds. Went totally crazy over the holidays and gained 10 pounds back. I should be able to continue losing, but I seem to be sabotaging myself. I don't have dumping syndrome anymore and can eat sugar without getting sick, so over the holidays I went crazy. I am tapering off the carbs and sugar. I am starting an exercise program tomorrow and trying to surround myself with support to get back to a solid routine. I want to lose another 50 lbs.

So glad you joined I am a Texan too! I am sure you know all the rules like... just eat less and move more each day... gain control and lose weight... but first and foremost remember you are already successful you just have 50 more to go! That is wonderful!! That is not even 1/2 of what you have done already... I know you are headed for more and more success!!

Hi Texas Transplant, Welcome. Hang in there, as soon as you get back on track the lbs will start comming off again. I still get dumping but I can tolerate a little surgar so at Thanksgiving I tried a very small piece of cherrie pie (two bites), MISTAKE, I dumped in less than 5 minutes and felt ill for an hour afterward, from then I only nibbled on home made cookies now and then. You lost 115 lbs over 11 months that is great! Keep up the good work. Tom

this is disease like anyother addiction. that is so hard for me to keep firstmost in my mind. the 50 lbs I gained back might as well have beem 200 in the way my mental attitude thinkd. everyday I start with a good breakfast and then the rest of the day is test. They tell me just say no when appropriate. Don't let it get you off track.patti

Welcome to the group! I hope you find the support you need here. There are some wonderful people in this group. I would caution you to sit back and re-evaluate what you are doing. If you no longer have the dumping and can eat whatever you want, it sounds as if your body is bad to pre-surgery status. That would scare the life out of me. I don't want to be negative but I also don't like to blow smoke when I see something that concerns me. Please see your nutritionist about the weight gain. Possibly she/he can help you to get back on track. I hear all the time post-op'ers saying they have gained a few lbs..next thing they know they are up 50 lbs...and continue gaining. Right now you are at what is probably an easy turn-around point.

Please keep us up on how you are doing. Looking forward to reading you are back on track and doing well.

Again, welcome.

(hi, patti!!!!!)
