I had the gastric bypass just over one year. I am almost at my goal weight. My issue is that I have problems eating meat or food with a lot of texture. I eat a lot of soup. Mostly broth based soups. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi Laurel! WELCOME to the Forum!!! Congratulations on your great weight loss!!!

I have had no problem eating all kinds of meats. I eat meat at every meal except when I have eggs or fish. I started eating white flakey fish and tuna and salmon 3 weeks after surgery. Then at 7 weeks I could have any kind of meat, but usually prefer chicken breast, but also eat beef, lean pork and hamburger. I do chew the meat very well.

Have you talked to your nutritionist or your surgeon? Not being able to eat texured food doesn't sound right to me. Have you tried cooking your meat slowly in a crock pot so it falls apart and is super tender? Maybe that might help.

Hope you can find an answer to your problem.
