Hello, my name is Carol and I live in Albany, NY. I am on the Albany Medical Center's Bariatric Program and just about finished with what I need to get done. My 2 pre surgery support groups are coming up on Nov 8th and Nov 12th and my Pulmonary Eval is on Nov 20.
I also work night shift here at the same hospital I am having my procedure at.
I am looking forward to getting my surgery done and my start of my journey. I will be taking pictures soon. My before, my day of the surgery, and then the after ones as they come along. I am starting to get together a journal for the pictures and information along with another journal for after surgery to keep tabs on what I take in and how I feel along with the exercises.
I have so far been putting my exercises and what I eat in a journal on my before journal.
I think I have read just about every book on Gastric Bypass surgery and on other people's journeys, etc.. I have several books by the Bariatric surgeons themselves. I have also talked to quite a few patients in my hospital that have had the surgery and they told me their experiences and that they would not have it any other way. My sister also had the procedure I just found out.
I have a wonderful support system in my husband at home and in my son and his wife (who lives in NYC). My brothers are all for it.
So a home support system is there.
I will update my profile for the surgery date as soon as they give it to me.
I have been buying sample of the different protein powders, etc as I have been told by everyone that tastes change.
