Hi I just got the call yesterday, My surgery date is this coming week on the Jan.30th. just alittle bit scared.

Vick I hope that you are prepared for the joy that will come when you start losing the weight! I had my surgery 4 years ago and have never regretted it. But back to your surgery.. ask any questions that you have.. be up front with yourself.. are you ready to do this? and do exactly what the surgeon and staff tell you to do... Let us know how you are doing.... ..the day is getting near. We want you to have a postitive eperience.. it is pretty normal to be a bit scared.. the fear of the unknown.. all the what ifs.. am I making the right decision...so many questions go thru your mind. Most people have researched bariatric surgery for 2 years before going thru with it. I believe most of us are well prepared. Don't hesitate to come here with questions or concerns that we can help you with.. also my docs and staff were great.. will be thinking of you on the 30th.

I am right there with you.. mine is the 29th.. was feeling great and closer I get the more anxious I become.. we'll make it thru just fine..keep in touch out there

welcome VICK I don't know why they didn't tell you sooner so you could prepare your body for surgery. did they tell you to start a liquid diet or make any other restrictions? I was lucky my dr allowed me to eat a 1200 calorie diet pre-op and I had to loose 20 or 25 lbs before surgery, but I was told the instructions 3 months before surgery. some dr have people do the liquid diet pre op because it causes the liver to shrink. I would call the office and make sure of any last min. instructions. I think everybody gets scared before any kind of surgery but this one is gonna make a positive impact on your life and all for the better. this room is great for reading about others journey's and up's and down's and sharing receipes and idea's that have worked for them. come back and share your journey, praying for a quick recovery for you. Donna

Welcome, Vick! My surgery is in the morning, so we're just about on the same schedule. I did not have to do any pre-op diet, but did limit myself to 1200 calories a day. Just hang in there, and try to remember all the reasons you wanted this surgery.
