not quite 3 months since surgery

just wondering what everyone's weight loss history for everyone in the early months since surgery. I'm almost 3 months since surgery have lost about 37 pounds and my doctor is happy but when I ask what is normal he said it varies so I'm thinking I should be losing more but keeping hopeful so scared I won't lose very much but I am grateful i feel better and next month hope to be off all my meds which is a miracle in itself. Husband has been good with cooking things I can eat but not very supportive with my excerise so I'm on my own there but I'm using my daughter's Wii fitness and yoga so i don't need his help I have to do this myself just wondering what everyone else had lost in the beginning and just venting my fears of not making it to my goal weight and going back to who I was before Thanks!

Over 10 pounds a month seems pretty good to me. Don't compare yourself with anyone else. You will reach goal, and you will maintain it.
The weight loss that we achieve with this surgery is different than any other weight loss. I mean, the fat is gone. I've been at this weight before, but don't remember being able to feel my spine, my collar bone, and my tail bone through my skin. I believe the methods that are suggested to us produce a healthier weight loss, if that makes any sense. I've just come to realize how monumental of a change I put my body through. Slow losing is better I think.

Thank you Karenina
I guess your right it does feel different this time I've been this weight before too and I do feel better and thinner than before. I just get scared because I know I've had the surgery but I don't feel all that different all these people told me how they had trouble eating and drinking even water and I have been fine since the day after surgery no issues at all except didn't like eggs don't agree with me but other than that I do get full but not like everyone describes so I'm scared I''ll go back to what I was before or later on eat to much. my husband isn't that great at support sure he eats and cooks for me but then he just says "I think your eating more than you should" or your going to end up needing surgery again if you don't watch it which makes me panic I don't think I'm overeating but scares me just the same. need to hook up with some other people to excersise with too but thanks again

I am losing at a slow rate but, I am still having issues with my pouch and learning how to eat correctly. I haven't been getting in enough calories and my body has been in starvation mode. I also have to have an upper gi on friday. I was told the same thing that Karenina told you. I have only lost 34-36 lbs I keep gaining and losing the same 2 lbs. I have hit a plateau and once I get done on Friday I will be changing up a few things to get the weight rolling again. I am glad that your husband cooks for you but, it would good if he would support your exercise. My husband is a personal trainer and his cousin teaches aerobic classes she is also a personal trainer and she has had clients that have had bariatric surgery. I will get her to train me when I lose a little more weight. Right now I go in and work out on some of the machines. I like the eliptical best because it's not hard on my knees. I also like to walk on the tread mill. I have been going to zumba classes and I love it. My daughter has been going with me. You need to find a workout buddy that would be really good.

Hi Dchez, we have the same surgery date. I have lost 37 lbs too. Everyone's body is different and their weight loss too. You didn't say how many calories your eating my surgeon told me to eat between 600-800 a day while in weight loss phase every once in a while I eat a little more than that (like if I go out to eat I may eat a dinner roll with butter). But, most of the time I stick to what he told me. I wish you well on your weight loss journey.

I have trouble eating. I don't eat any bread, no soda, no caffiene. I am 6 weeks out and more or less still on a semi liquid protien diet. apple sauce, yogart, small small 1/4 cup of cut up strawberies, tuna fish salad. All those are easy. I try chicken, scrimp, ham, cut in small finger nail size pieces, they keep coming back up. I do like a pouched egg! I lost 55 lbs in 6 weeks, but I am more worried about never being able to eat without toss it.
