I can't believe I'm three days out! At my pre-op appointment on Monday, my doctor told me I'm the first person on his schedule for Friday. The hospital won't call and tell me when to show up until Thursday, so I wait impatiently for that information. Though I assume it's going to be super early.

Has anyone gone through this that has autism and ADHD? I was wondering how bad the post-op period would be, especially with stimming.

Oh, thanks! My brain processed it the way I have to deal with other medical acronyms in my job.

I do also have complex PTSD, depression and anxiety. But since my stimming involves a lot of movement, I was worried how much pain it might actually create.

I am back after a long time off the site. I just want to encourage you and celebrate with you this step toward overall health. I had the best experience over the last year, my surgery was a year ago and I have lost over 100 pounds and feel amazing. The nutrient rich, protein rich, low-inflammatory diet, combined with all the vitamins and nutrients being in balance has improved my health and energy. My advice, be patient with the process and stages of healing, ask questions and stay organized so you can ask questions that you have. Take all the samples the hospital offers after surgery home with you, my surgery center was very generous with protein shakes, dosing cups and other supplies for recovery at home. Be patient with yourself as you deal with this lifestyle change, it is not sunshine and roses all the time, but it is beneficial.
