The butterflies have started......Here I go..Just like it says its time for change. I'm ready to stop feeling like an 80 y/o man...I haven't even hit 40 yet. Sometimes I wonder if I'm emotionally strong enough!....
Time for change-Welcome to the forum. You have begun your journey by virtue of getting as far as you have. The waiting game of insurance approval is over. For many people this was probably one of the most stressful times. You are far beyond that and have your surgery date. If you haven't started it already you will probably have the same emotional rollercoaster ride most of us have gone through. It starts before surgery and goes on past surgery for a short while. It's perfectly normal and is nothing to be ashamed about. You mentioned you are wondering if you are emotionally strong enough so I'm thinking you have started the ride already so all you need to do now is hang on tight!!! Make sure to keep coming back to the forum to let us know how you are doing. Feel free to vent, ask questions and help others who may be having a difficult time understanding something you have already conquered.
Congratulations. Mine is scheduled for October 22. We should keep in touch to see how each other is doing. Do you have to get several physician's okay for surgery between now and then? I have to. I even have to have an endoscopy done (can't figure out why). Good luck.
Barbara J.....congrats to you as well......my insurance co. required I complete the entire exhausting relay of tests and approvals prior to meeting with the Bariatric surgeon....I've completed the runs with the nutritionists, psychiatrists,....sleep studies, endoscopes,....and on and on.....I would love to stay in touch....good luck to you...hang on we are almost at the finish line!
As far as thinking if your strong enough... you have already chosen to live. That is so brave and you are stronger than you think! We are all here to support you on your journey. God bless you.
Hi TimeForChange, Welcome. You will be feeling better in no time. I waited until I was 43 to have my WLS and I healed up quickly and started getting my wind back in a few months. Oct is just around the corner, hang in there. Tom
