I hit a stall last month. Had not been exercising because it was too cold to swim so I started using my treadmill (even though it hurts to some degree) and increased my protein and I started losing again even if it was only three pounds, but at least I didn't gain. Try the protein and exercise and eventually it will come off. With my lap band it comes off so slowly anyway but I don't care as long as I lose. Rome was not built in a day and I didn't gain the weight over night so I have to be patient.
Exactly Javajoy, We didn't get into this shape overnight and it won't come off overnight either. What Javajoy said about exercise is exactly right along with getting your protein and water. Don't worry about little bumps or plateaus. The weight will come off as long as you continue to stick to the program. Keep us informed.
This will help you not do this again. I hope it also shows you how much control you have in the process. You've made it happen so far and you can continue to make it happen!!!
Hi Kim, You'll do fine. The plateaus are just your body trying to catch up with your weight loss, you are more than likely starting to gain muscle at the same rate you are losing fat which gives the scale the apperance of no weight loss but it will show in the size of your cloths and your energy level. If the plateau last more than three or four weeks you may need to increase your protien and calorie intake because we can actually send our bodies into a starvation mode where we will retain weight when our body thinks it is starving, it can be a fine line to balance on though but that is whey they stress a minimum protien intake a day, it was 60 grams for me. Hi Kim N. I did in the form of a protien shake or protien bar for the first year, otherwise I never would have attained 60 grams a day although the closer I got to my year mark it became easier to eat enough food in my meals. I still have aprotien shake most mornings and an occasional bar when I can afford to buy them. Tom
