Weight Loss Plateau... by week 3???

Lost 25 lbs in 1st 2 1/2 weeks... nothing in week 3... is that normal? I expected a slow down over the next 4-6 weeks but not this soon. Anyone else experience the same?

Eh hem! Very much, I lost 22 lbs at two weeks post op. and my weight has hovered at that level for the past month. There is no real reason for it that I can imagine; I am not eating very much and most of what I eat, I can't keep down and my exercise has been increasing at a good clip. But I refuse to get obsessive about it. I know I am doing what I should be doing. So, I went with the flow and this week, week six, I've noticed movement down 2 lbs and I think the chances are good that I will lose another 2 lbs by the end of the week. I've had some hunger and cravings but I own those now and just accept that's the way things are from now on and don't give in. So you are not alone.

Cheers

It happens. I think the body is just retaliating and hanging on to the weight to fight what it perceives as starvation. Just keep on track and it will soon realize what's going on and you'll drop the pounds again. Meantime, I bet you are noticing that your clothes are fitting a little looser. Happy thoughts.

Stalls are normal, and are part of the process. You can only shock your body so much before it has to re-group. I put the scales away, and only look once every week or so. Even if the numbers aren't changing on the scale, my clothes sizes are, lol. You have lost a ton of weight for someone who started as a "lightweight", so your body needs a little time to adjust.

YES! My stall happened three weeks after RNY too. I was worried, but the weight loss is picking back up now.

You will encounter times where the scale doesn't seem to budge, but not for long. Monitor yourself to ensure you're taking in sufficient amounts of protein, and take your exercise routine up a notch. You will begin to lose again and quickly. If you stay true to the instructions you're given and keep your exercise routine in full swing, you'll see the weight begin to come off again and it will happen soon. Stay strong, remain focused, and be positive!
