Please do all your homework on this, I understand I'm not in your shoes , but there was someone on here who went to Mexico and almost died, she had to fly home sick and go to an American hospital any way,I would hate to see this for you. Most hospitals will set up a payment plan if you need one, but Evan research who ever your surgeon is, I researched my surgeon and hospital and everything went real smooth , I had my surgery October 1 and have lost nearly 50 lb, I wish you well on your search.:rolleyes:

Hi, Linda,

My son went to Tijuana, Mexico in August 2012 for wls. He had a positive experience and is doing well.

As Susie q pointed out, you want to research your surgeon carefully. There are good and not-so-good surgeons in Mexico, just as there are in the United States.

hello linda,there is someone from louisiana on here,me and there are lots of doctors here that are good surgeons.I had my operation done on august 16th of this year and i'm doing great.I done my research and pick the doctor that i thought was best for me and it work out well.
 
Thanks Susie, I will not be going to Mexico my PC willnot let me or my family PC dr is going to do everything he can to help mehe has recommended a surgeron here that he wants me to go see I trust he so i will do what he says
 
i am from Iowa humbolt area would like to meet with other's who have had or going to have wls, so we can get a support group going.
 
I'm glad your doctor is gonna help you, I worry about surgeries in another country, my surgeon is Dr. Taylor from Forest Hills Bariatric hospital, out of Ypsilanti Michigan, he is a great surgeon, I wish you luck with your journey, keep us posted on your situation..
 
I'm from South Louisiana...waaaaaay South. I'm about three hours from Lake Charles. I had the Sleeve last month. I'm new to the game but learning a lot. Good Luck Linda.
 
Hey Cajun. Did you have your surgery done in Mexico? I have been researching Dr. Elias Ortiz in Tiajuana. My insurance won't pay for any of my surgery. So as I am having to pay 100% of it myself, in addition to skill, experience and safety, I have financial considerations.
 
I am in Northwest Louisiana and looking into having the sleeve. I have a meeting on Tuesday April 14,2015 for more information.
