Finally weight is under 200 lbs.!

Congrats! I remember getting down under 200. It was more exciting than the -100 loss. Keep up the good work.

    Reaching 6 months post op

Just to be clear, the 105 lbs loss also includes the 30 I lost before the surgery. I sure have enjoyed the addition of fruit and veggies (ok, more so the fruit).

    Reaching 6 months post op

Hard to believe it has almost been 6 months. It seems so long ago. I know everyone's program varies, but in my doctor's office - those first six months were protein only. Tomorrow I get to add fruits and veggies for the first time. I couldn't be happier - both with the additional food...

Why did you choose the surgery you chose and how is it going?

I picked the Sleeve and am very happy I did. I am just at 6 months post op and have lost a total of 105 lbs. I haven't had any problems and in my recent blood work - my labs all look really good (other than Vitamin A was low). I chose it due to the mal-absorption issues associated with RNY...

    what am I doing wrong?

You can't look at other people's numbers and compare to yourself. As an earlier poster noted - Higher start numbers will make a difference. And so many other factors play into that as well. I know at our hospital support group, they have us go around the room and give our "stats". I am not a...

    2 months post op

I am coming up on two months post op as well. My scale seems to be stuck in the same place for the past week (but then I remember it would do that before and then WAM, next day, 3-4 pound drop - jut waiting for that drop). I know i am following everything faithfully. I even invested in a...

    One day post op

I also work in an office and coming back to work on that fourth week was tough. It worked out for me in the fact that it feel on the week of New Year's and I worked for two days, had a day off and worked for two days. I wouldn't recommend trying to go back sooner. I had lifting restrictions...

Final decision.. Sleeve or gastric by-pass

Surprisingly, I had reflux before the surgery and haven't had any since and I am a sleeve patient. I chose the sleeve for the absorption issues. I wanted to be able to absorb what ever I could.

    Recieved my surgery date today!

Congrats. I hope all goes well for you. Follow the instructions they give you. I am now 6 weeks post op and have had no problems (other than getting enough fluid down - which I hear is pretty common).

    Need Help

I went on line to see if there was someplace to buy it in a smaller quantity. The company web site says you can buy at RiteAid, GNC, Winn Dixie to name a few. When I had to buy the protein shakes, I bought a small 4-pack at the local grocery store (Vons/Safeway) before buying at Cocsto. At...

    Celebrating!!

Great Job. I've had to thin out my closet too. I even had to go buy 2 pairs of pants so I'll have enough things to wear to work. What a wonderful feeling.

    Outings

When my doctor's office gave me the card, they said that restaurants don't have to accept it, but go ahead and try. I think once I have a diet that includes all the food groups (My doctor's plan is protein only for first 6 months) I will venture out more. But I was prepared when we went on our...

Do yourself a favor and get out a measuring tape

One of the things I really wish I had done was get out the measuring tape and get some "before" measurements. I do have one blouse I got at work (logo wear). When I got it 6 months ago, I couldn't button the bottom button. I wore it today and it is very loose. So, I know that with the scale...

    Outings

Last weekend my son and I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain. It was pretty exciting, I was able to "buckle up" in every ride I wanted to ride. And we walked and walked. On the drive home, we stopped at Denny's. I don't know if any of the rest of you received a "restaurant card" from your...

    six month check yp

Congrats on the great check up. I am just about 1 month - so much to look forward to. My special treat for myself was I bought a annual pass to Knotts Berry Farm. Now it is a 4 hour drive, but last time I went, there were rides I wasn't able to go on due to my size. I am down 50 lbs Since the...
