So Friday my wife’s cousin is visiting us for a week with her husband and 13 year old daughter ( that just adores me ) although I don’t know why guess cause im funny . Anyway Sunday is Universal Studios ( my favorite) and then Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday yes three days we’re going to Disneyland. This will be a big challenge as t what to eat at these parks . Been to Disney a lot and their aren’t many good choices . Has anyone been to these places after your post- op and if you did any recommendations for food . I’ll have water all day too so I don’t get dehydrated. Just don’t want to be hungry if I do get hungry and can’t eat. Almost all the foods at these places are your typical junk foods anyway. I don’t eat fish or chicken so that’s out of the question.

i remember going to a great Japanese restaurant across the street from the western parking lot (i can't remember if there's more than one lot there). but you can't eat fish or chicken so that might not work for you.

i find that i have to have good, well-cooked protein sources every day, so protein bars don't work for me. if i have to be out in a place like this, i just eat burgers & toss the buns out and i never stand still. i know i'm going to end up eating some junk whether or not i want to, so i just throw away the really bad stuff when i order from a food truck or burger stand. and if possible, i ask for extra lettuce on a sandwich so at least i burn some calories by chewing it.

there are a lot of fast food joints around the park. could you buy lower-calorie things from them & take them into the park in your rucksack or tote or whatever? that's what i'd do. otherwise, it would be cotton candy and popcorn all day long...

Brings to mind the commercial I saw today for KFC... a chicken "sandwich" with 2 glazed donuts serving as the bun! I feel so sad for all the chubby little kids out there who see this and are excited to try it. They don't realize that these fast food companies are building up their developing eating disorders. It's almost criminal.

I used to eat that way ! I once had a hot dog between a glazed donut and a burger between two donuts. Yeah the media does that to us . I saw those advertisements and said I gotta try them . Fried Oreos ,chocolate covered bacon , deep fried pizza now I can’t even eat a half of a meatball. Glad that’s over with . Kids watching all that junk food on tv and billboards what can you do

I've seen a couple doozys since I've been out of work but this one really made me mad. Others were:
  • Sonic - "tachos" - Tater tots covered in cheese and bacon and whatever other garbage they decided to throw on them.
  • Pizza hut - pizza with mozzarella sticks right on the crust (I guess not much worse than the "stuffed crust" they do but still)
I just know the 7 year old me would have craved these things and so there are kids out there seeing these and developing tastes for this garbage.

It's so sad to me. No wonder surgery is the only hope for most of us. We need to be physically unable to eat these things that are pushed like drugs. The fact that they are portraying them as "normal" food choices is insane!

Yeah just like drugs ! The hamburger and hot dog I was talking about were on menus at two restaurants in Santa Barbara that’s what we’ve become. State fairs sell the same things.
God damn! It's so irresponsible. I think of my beautiful nieces and hope that they never struggle like I did. But these companies are doing all they can to steer them down the wrong path.

wow, i'm so glad I'm boycotting KFC. I haven't eaten it for probably 20 years, after seeing a flier from PETA showing KFC farmworkers tossing and kicking chickens like they're footballs, and discovered they snip off the chickens' beaks so they don't peck each other while growing up in some kind of metal stocks, never moving. it's so hard to eat processed foods, not knowing what happens to it before it gets to the consumer.

and i don't know how i got so lucky, but when i see a commercial for something gooey and they're pouring hot fudge or gravy over it in slow motion, i have to look away because it makes me want to vomit. i think this revulsion developed after i had RYGB surgery.

having grown up on a farm and seeing animals killed regularly so they'd end up on our dinner table, i'm not squeamish about eating grocery store chickens, usually. but these days, i always do research by brand on how an animal lives before it dies. it would be super-easy for me to go vegetarian, as i have in the past, if i knew an animal was being tortured before it was killed, then sold to me for food. oh, ugh, so gross.

Is it out of the question to take a cooler filled with snacks & light meals? That's what we did last time we went simply because of the cost of feeding 6 kids we had with us. I haven't been there since ....geez...1989, so maybe things have changed with leaving the park often to go to vehicles.

Almost forgot kinda but not worried about the Coronavirus at the parks . Orange County where I live got a health emergency about the virus and with the thousands of people who go to the parks who knows if someone is infected or not espesally the ones from other countries. So a little worried about it I guess . Be washing my hands and using sanitizer a lot I guess. It’s spreading like crazy according to the news only a matter of time!

My 19 year old ordered himself one of those pizzas a week or so ago - I stole a bite of one of his mozzarella sticks (which are admittedly one of my weaknesses), and they were SO gross!! I could not even swallow that bite - the cheese had a weird texture and tasted rancid, they were clearly fried before being put on the pizza and had old oil taste, and the seasoning was not even redeeming in any way.
