Hospitalization, Homecoming and a new start

It does work! So now I can find posts that I'd like to view again without having to hunt them down. This site ROCKS!!
THANK YOU!

You may want to make some homemade chicken broth this weekend to have on hand.. The change of taste is great when your on the liquid diet.

I made mine using 2 hens, 1 cup of celery (tops and leaves also), and 1 pound of fresh carrots cut into chucks, and salt to taste.

We simmered for several hours (till meat fell off the bones), strained off all of the broth. I pressure canned the broth in pint jars so I'd have it on hand.
My husband pulled the meat and we sealed it in a vacuum bag. After we got home from the hospital he made chicken salad, used the meat on a salad and picked at the meat. He still has some meat in the freezer.

Omg that sounds sooo good right now. I went shopping. I couldn't find liquid or even chewable Calcium Citrate even at GNC nor could I find even a small B-1 vitamin so I may as we'll stick with what I have already. Oh well shopping helped waste a couple of hours. Oooo I'm getting grumpy. I'm gonna resume my Apple juice shots and pretend they're something else. LOL

I got my chewable calcium citrate & chewable vitamins from OPurity.. http://http://www.unjury.com/store/protein/bariatric-vitamins.html

My surgeons office also gave me a goodie bag with full sized chewable iron, chewable vitamins, and chewable calcium citrate.

Wow that is a wonderful gift your surgeon gave you. Thank you for the link. My nut doesn't want us to eat anything chewy for about 6 weeks I think. So the yummy Viactive calcium chews are out. She said the clog the opening to the stomach.
Thanks anyway.

The texture of mine are the same as the chewable vitamins, the crunchy. crumbly style.. these are not sticky chewy.

I won't do anything sticky chewy even after the healing.. The opportunity to "block", "obstruct" your opening can happen with any food you eat. That's why it is so important to chew slowly and make sure your food is very well chewed into tiny bits.

The felling of having your "opening" being obstructed they say is like having a large lump with pressure in your chest which will eventually clear over an hour or so as your stomach digests it. They say it is rather uncomfortable.

That is fabulous news. I will order the Calcium Citrate from Unjury today. Do you know who makes the chewable iron that your doctor gave you? I can't imagine what crushed iron tastes like. I guess I could find out but I may not need iron anyway so I'll wait. But a chewable iron would be good to know about just incase.

How are you doing today? You are 5 days out now right?

Tomorrow at this time I will have crossed over and probably resting peacefully in Anesthesia
Land. LOL

LOL

Celebrate Bariatric Vitamins makes the chewable iron.

I am doing good. Still having the glitters and some gas pain but nothing to bad.
We had a nice outing today just to get out of the house.

You will do great... Remember the key is to walk, walk, walk and warm liquids...

I will be thinking of you tomorrow morning...

<3 and Prayers....
