Hi Tiff, have you been in to see your bariatric doctors about getting your vitamins under control, low B12 will definatly make you fatigued along with a low iron that can be a double whammy then with alow blood surgar of 43 that is scary, If your current bariatric doctors can't help you get a handle on this please look into seeing another specialist. I am two years out right now and I just seen my doctor a few weeks ago and I had low D3 and my B12 was right on the edge of low and normal as was my white blood cell count, so far I feel fine though. Please let me know what you find out and take care of yourself. Tom

hi TIF,

how are you feeling today? I know how you feel being so tired and dealing with the pain of fibromyalgia, and having kids to care for. Like others have mentioned please contact your DR. your vitamin levels being off kilter will definetly affect how you feel.
you've done good keeping the weight off you lost, still waiting for my surgery date. see surgeon may4,12, hope to get surgery date then.
since you had your surgery in 2005 do you still have to drink the protein shakes instead of real foods all the time? I 've seen people gain the weight back, seen others who continue to loose and who've met the goal weight.
I pray you are feeling better and you get to your dr.
I like you (MY kids are my life). I am having this surgery for me but also so I can be around longer for them too. When you're having a good day, please share your journey of what you've went through on this journey to being healthier.
Have a blessed day,
Donna

thanks tom,yes i feel like i'm always in a dr.s office i take a multi vit. calcium 600/D3 i give my self B12 shots once a month from my doctor i drink protein shakes which i found really helps with less blood sugar drops if i have one 1st thing in the morning, and i have it with soy or almond milk because i am also lactose intal. but weird thing is i was'nt till about 2 years out so i just stopped drinking milk ,but hopefully the soy and almond milk will help ,i just went through a sleep study wating for results from that , keep in touch and let me know what you go through.

Hi Tiff, Tom again. I started taking 5000 IU of D3 and 2000 mcg subligual B12 per my doc after my last visit, I was taking 3000 IU and 1000 mcg before my anuall visit so hopefully those levels will be back up next year. I still tolerate milk ok butI don't drink much, I have never really liked milk much before my RnY so it was hard to start drinking it again, I still don't drink it very much, but I do eat yougurt and I do ok with that. Do the B12 shots last longer than the sulingual tabs do, I have friends who get a B12 shot once a month but they didn't have WLS it is for something else. I am going to do a 10 mi. Pearblossom run up in Medford OR, just for fun though. Hang in there hopefully your doctors can get handle on the vitamin problems that should help with the fatigue. Tom

hey, how are you? when i get my vit. levels checked it seems like the doctors aren't concerned to much' just keep taking your vits.' i was thinking about getting into a hemataligist i just have so many apps. i feel like in a doctors office like you say i had my son at 315 lbs. and wanted to be healthly so i could do everything with him i had a alful recovery , they did the inside stitches so tight you could see a large indent when i lifted my shirt up it gave me so so so much pain i could'nt walk for 2 months i had to live at my mom's so she could take care of me and my son they said there was nothing they could do i just had to get through it and the pain meds made me consipated? sorry my spelling is not the best , and with all the pain i could hardly push and i had meds to help that but they did'nt 4 yrs after i had my lil girl so i gained a lil weight back but it was worth it plus everyone said i was to thin at 167, she is 2 now and i'm just so sick daily i do everything i can to feel good but nothing helps so day's i can't even get off the couch, and i can't run and play with them like i thought i can only do a little bit at a time i cry a lot because i'm sceard my blood sugar may drop to low when i'm sleeping and i might not wake up and they only thing i can do about that is make sure i get my protein in and even then it might drop but protein is the best thing you can do and i did'nt have this problem till 3? years after i take vits. i give myself b12 shots once a month i don't have to drink protein shakes insted of real food i have to to get that much protein in though so my blood sugar don't drop i eat almost everything can't eat chineise ,and i still throw up almost daily i became lactose intal. about 2 years after so i drink almond milk but i am okay with cheese weird and yogurt and i don't want to scare you in any way i just want you to know some problems you might face even when you do things right ,so nice to talk with you look foward to hearing back from you best wishs :)

Hi tiff, thanks for all the good info. I certainly hope you can get a handle on the vitamins who knows that may be linked to the low blood surgars, my wife was a diabetic and when her surgars crashed she would be wiped out for the rest of the day. Your not the first person I had heard from that can handle yogurt but not milk. Your journey hasn't scared me but I will keep an eye out fo rsignes. I knew to begin with there are risks and we all don't get the same after effect, but if I do, it may be better than the alternative of all the health issues I was facing and new ones that had a better than average chance of developing. It is good talking with you. Let me know if thing get better or worse. Tom
