11 years out and they discovered i have a fistula from my bypass surgery.

I agree with Deena212. There must be surgeons who have done this type of repair. Good luck, and let us know what happens.

first time user on any forum also typing with 1 hand. just had surgery on the other.

Yes, I use both the bariatric prepackaged foods and vitamins. I also use a crockpot to make some meals and then freeze some of it, but you said refrigeration was a problem.

Question, Does anyone feel sick after eating after having the sleeve ???

Do you have allergies? I was feeling nauseous most mornings and my nutritionist suggested taking my allergy meds at night rather than in the morning. Problem solved! All that post-nasal drip had no where to go with my small stomach.

I'm a big fan of using the pre-packaged food at least at first. It took a lot of the stress out figuring out how to get the protein in when you are eating so little. I don't know about the pressure cooker, I've never used one, but definitely buy a one-person blender (smoothie maker). Get one...

Alicia, You should look for a protein drink that is less than 200 calories, less than 10 carbs, and at least 15 Gm of Protein. I rejected Atkins when I looked at it in the store, can't remember why--probably because they mostly focus on low carbs and the protein might not be high enough for the...

Well I am hoping my weight has leveled off and is on the way down again

Ralph, you know it's always 68 degrees and dry in the gym. When the weather is crappy, I go to the gym and walk on the indoor track.

    Starting my journey

It sounds like you have a good handle on your decision. Read all you can, and practice eating and drinking like you would post-op. With such a busy schedule you will have to do a lot of meal planning, and probably bring your food to school and work with you. It's better if you make food...

What a wonderful time I had last night with friends and family

And wasn't it great to have the site of food not send you into an eating frenzy! I find it doesn't bother me at all to see other's eat.

    Post Surgery and Need Support

Welcome to the forum, Haydee. I'm sorry you had trouble over the holidays. Something that helped me over the holidays was to remind myself that I didn't want to be fat anymore. If I gave into the cravings I would have reversed all my hard work, and I really didn't want to be fat anymore. You...

    surgery on the 7th

Speaking of lasagna, I made a chicken and spinach lasagna yesterday WITHOUT the noodles and it tastes great! I'm wondering what the noodles are for, cause the recipe is fine without them. Only 109 calories per 2 oz serving.

First Week to not lose any weight!!!

Please don't be discouraged. By my calculations you are losing almost 2 pounds a week, which is excellent considering the hospital water weight gain. It took awhile for my body to catch up with the program. And you know you can't compare yourself to a man! My husband used to quit Pepsi's and...

Question, Does anyone feel sick after eating after having the sleeve ???

Welcome to the forum. Everyone's journey is so different, it's hard to compare yourself with others. The only problems I have had post-sleeve is if I eat too fast or don't chew something like chicken enough. Then it feels like a heart attack in your stomach--not a good feeling. Keep a positive...
