Very, very normal. I think they should just tell people that they're going to regret surgery in the first two to three months. I had similar problems and I too absolutely hated protein shakes! I used to have to try to choke them down by holding my nose. Even then, yuck! It gets a lot easier with time, though, so hang in there. You'll be back to normal foods soon, just in much smaller amounts. Remember to eat slowly and listen to your body. I'm not even sure I could tell you all of the ways in which my life has improved in the last 4 1/2 months, but if it helps at all, having bypass surgery has turned out to be probably the best decision I've ever made in my life.
