The transition to soft foods shouldn't be too hard. As for the full feeling, it may not come for a while. I am almost 10 weeks out and still do not have that feeling. Because of this, I have to measure and weigh everything. I do, however, feel satisfied after my meals. Wendy's chili is a good soft food choice. It is my "go-to" food right now. I just got moved to Step IV diet a few days ago.
One of the tricks I use to help slow down my eating is to use a toddler spoon. It only holds 3 peas, or a couple of beans from the chili. I also chew everything at least 25 times. As for the fluids, it takes a little time to get used to remembering when you can drink in relation to food, but it will become second nature.
