3 months post-op - how much should I be eating?

Hi Laura. I'm 6 months post sleeve and I have the morning blahs too! What has worked for me is to drink something hot first thing. For whatever reason, it seems to open up my pouch and helps me tolerate proteins. I still cannot eat any type of bread, it just doesn't sit well. I can eat crackers...

    11weeks out and have questions

I understand how your feeling. The numbers are amazing, but the question is am I losing it as expected. I felt the same way, saw my doctor a week ago and he gave me an A+ for my 90 lbs in 6 months and he says he never gives A+ to anyone. I truly now believe the numbers are irrelevent. It is best...

    Foaming? What the heck!

This past Saturday, and of course I'm in a restaurant, I experience the FOAMING. Honestly, I heard all about this in my very supportive group, but to experience it, well that's another story. I'm a 6 month post op sleeve, (down 90 lbs) thinking I'm in charge, so what do I eat? Keep in mind...

Former lap bander, now considering the Sleeve.

Hi There, I had the sleeve on 3/05/2013, so I'm a little past 4 months out. Starting weight 261, now 184, hoping for 159-my normal BMI, but I'm even good where I'm at today. I no longer take blood pressure medication or arthritis medications! I've gone from a size 22W to a misses 10 (my goal was...

    working lunch

I agree with the guys, refried beans is my go to mexican meal. They were the first soft food I ate. If anyone is nosy enough to ask you why your not eating the mexican carbs, tell them why! Be proud that you took the step to make yourself a healthy person! I don't shout it out to the world, but...

    question concerning water

My surgeon and dietician advised me to drink all that I could up until I picked up my fork, then no fluids for 30 minutes after my last bite. I've been able to get the majority of my fluid in and not flush my protein out of my sleeve. Best advice? Call your surgeon and/or dietician and follow...

Hope your doing well. I've started losing hair - which is a little freaky - but added Biotin 5000mg/d in hopes of slowing it down. I still have trouble getting all my water in and I gurgle quite a lot. Hope your doing well!

Surgery on the 11th, excited by very nervous!

My surgery was March 5th with absolutely no regrets. I'm experiencing more energy and better health than I've had in years. My blood pressure is normal for the first time in 20+ year's. My only regret is I wish I had done it 10 years ago! Good luck and keep us updated.

Holy Cow!!! I can't believe it!!!!

You just wrote my life story! LOL. Everything you said applies to me too. I had surgery March 5th, have lost 60 lbs. and haven't told anyone except the people who be most supportive. My husband and daughter and a couple of my coworkers who are now post sleeve patients. I too quit drinking...

    Hi, i'm msme

Hey there! Had my sleeve 3/05/2013 and have lost 54#. I find this board to be a good support too. I like finding out some of the problems I've had are shared by others (misery loves company! LOL). I have had no regrets from my surgery other than wishing I could have done it years ago when I was...

    100 lb gone!

Wow, you are an inspiration! Can you tell me how you dealt with the plateaus? I quickly lost 45#, then the last couple of weeks it's slowed down. My doctor is still very pleased, but I have some concerns. I appreciate anything you have to say. Tina

    Runny nose after surgery

I too have the runny nose problem, but not at first. Initially, I had left shoulder pain, a sharp pain if I overfilled my pouch. I called it my meal barometer! Now I have the stuffy ears and runny nose. I too thought it was my allergies and my poor PCP has written a ton of prescriptions for...
