A couple of questions...

I have a couple of questions:
1. I am having a problem with my jaw locking, almost like its coming out of the socket. This happened once before, while I was trying Atkins, years ago. I had the RNY in Oct and it just started showing up. Any ideas would be appreciated.
2. Every so often, I have tingling and a minor pain in my left buttocks. The tingling goes all the way to my toes, like they're asleep. Not sure what it is, but it started about two months ago and I haven't seen anything about it as yet.

Thanks

Dear Frank,

Your symptoms could be nothing. Or could be something.

Please get yourself to a doctor and find out, sooner rather than later, sir.

Qaterra, I was planning to call the Dr in the morning to make an appointment. Someone responded on Facebook that my tingling may be because of the sciatica nerve. Reading up on that now.

Dennis, thanks for the straight talk. The laugh did me good. Leave it to you to call it like you see it.

Hi Frank,

Maybe chewing too much (ROFL), just teasing. See your dentist as there are things they can do to ease that.

Re: the other symptom, could be sciatica, but you need to find out for sure. Perhaps some of the exercise you do could be affecting those nerves. Again it could be old age, but there are things that could be done to help with that. Sometimes just a small change in how you exercise. Keep us posted.

I have the tingling in both buttocks and down the back of my legs when I have to have a BM. This started after my 2nd C-section (in 1989), and my Dr told me that whenever they are playing around inside your belly there is a chance of a slight re positioning of your internal organs. So they have said that my lower intestine or actually a nerve near it shifted just a tiny bit, so as the fecal matter travels on its journey down, it now pushes on the nerve that makes my legs and butt tingle. It used to drive me crazy, but now I look at it as a for warning as to what is to come. ( Comes in kinda handy when your either driving or shopping LOL) Probably TMI for some.........but I tried to keep the details to a minimum.. ;)

Thanks for all the information everyone. I have an appointment with my Dr for both issues. I'll let you know what I find out.

Frank your symptoms sound like one of the main reasons
I decided to have my surgery I started out like what you are saying and the pain kept getiing worse in my but and leg untill I started walking around with a limp. Trusst me when I tell you I went to every kind of specialist including PT. They assured me this was not diabetic neuropathy or my arthritis and all the tests say its not psyatic pain. I have suffered with this for 2 years the weight loss has helped but the two things that have helped me to most aleviate the butt pain believe it or not is hamstring stretches in bed with a towel and a medication called gabapentin. Also the physical therapist suggested that I stand next to a wall put one leg infront of the other point the foot of the front leg in a little put your hand up on the wall and kind of rock your hips back and forth untill you fell a good stretch on your butt. helps me I hope some of this can help you too.

Jen, this started for me after the surgery. I've done a lot of reading and it seems to be the Sciatica, waiting to hear from the doc as to what we're going to do about it.
